Samantha Akkineni has become selective in choosing films in the past few years. She is not signing the regular commercial films but she is looking for intense character.  The latest we hear from the film circles is that she is going to act in a biopic soon.

The biopic is based on the famous Carnatic singer and social activist Bangalore Nagaratnamma.  She was the first president of the Association of Devadasis of Madras presidency. She fought for women's rights in the early 1900s which was seen as revolutionary those days.  Samantha has already given nod to act in the movie and the script work is going on in full swing as per the information.

Star writer Burra Sai Madhav is presently penning dialogues for the movie.  More details are awaited regarding this project.
