Businessman and a noted actor-filmmaker, Sachin Joshi made it into the news by getting detained by the immigration department in the Mumbai on Tuesday morning.
Sachin Joshi was stopped for the alleged case of gutka seizure in Hyderabad in March this year. After a few hours, he was taken into custody for further inquiry. He has received a notice under section 41of the CrPC. According to the police, there was a lookout circular for him in and he got detained the minute he landed at the airport. Joshi traveled from Dubai where he lives. The police will question him again if required. Hyderabad police had previously recovered a huge stash of gutka in March which is worth lakhs of rupees. When inquiring about the suspects, Joshi’s name also popped up and he got accused in the case.
An FIR also got registered under section 336 (endangering life) and 273 (sale of noxious food or drink) of the Indian Penal Code. All these sections are bailable and the lookout circular got issued as he doesn’t live in the country.
