After Slumdog Millionaire, Oscar Award winning music composer AR Rahman is considered as an international musician and he subsequently collaborated with several western and pop musicians for various albums. However, he continues to entertain Indian audiences with some big projects in Hindi and Tamil. Now, Rahman has added one more feather in his cap.
BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) has chosen AR Rahman as the ambassador of their Breakthrough initiative in India. The initiative supported by popular streaming service Netflix is planned to identify, celebrate, and support up to five great talents from various fields like film, sports, arts or Television in India.
Reacting to it, Rahman said he is thrilled to work with BAFTA and tweeted "Exciting and inspiring with more responsibilities". BAFTA Awards are presented in an annual award show hosted by British Academy of Film and Television Arts to honour best British and international contributions to film.
