Film critic, activist, director, and actor Mahesh Kathi who was undergoing treatment at Chennai Apollo hospital breathed his last a couple of hours ago. Mahesh Kathi met with an accident last month and was injured badly. The doctors treated him on time and he responded to the treatment.

Although his situation got better, the water entered his lungs a couple of days ago and it resulted in his health condition getting worsened. The doctors tried their best to save him but he stopped responding to the treatment. Andhra Pradesh government also came forward to support Mahesh Kathi for the expenses of his treatment.

Mahesh Kathi was earlier involved in a lot of controversies and directed the films Egise Tarajuvvalu and Pesarattu.
