Every year, we witness some big clashes at the box office during this festive season in both the Tamil and Telugu film industries. This time, the clashes got even bigger. While Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith are clashing in Tamil, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna are taking on each other in Tamil.

Earlier, it was rumored that Ajith's Thunivu would release on January 11 whereas Vijay's Varisu would hit the screens on January 12. However, the makers of both films didn't announce the release dates officially in time.

In a span of a few hours, we are going to witness the big box office battle of Varisu and Thunivu. Varisu's team and Thunivu's team announced the same date as the release day. So, both films clashed at the box office today.

As no star didn't take a step back to hold his film's release for a day or two, we are going to witness some crazy fan wars and collections wars from today. We have to see which film will end up as the winner of this Pongal race.
