Legendary Director Celebrates His 88th Birthday

Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is one of the initial era directors who tried to experiment with the films of various genres. Be it sci-fi, silent or a movie with midget as the lead, this legendary director has done it all. Today marks the 88th birthday of this exemplary filmmaker. Singeetham was born on 21st September 1931 in the Gudur city of Madras Presidency.

 

He ventured into films in the early 1950s, Singeetham assisted various films like Maya Bazaar and Pelli Naati Pramanalu. He debuted as the director with 1972 film Neeti Nijayati but he got the fame with his second directorial Dikkatra Parvathi (Tamil) which won a national award.

 

After that, he made various hit movies like Mayuri, Vichitra Sodarulu, Pushpaka Vimanam, Bhairava Dweepam and Aaksha Veedhilo. Singeetham also acted in a few films like Varudu and Actor. We wish him a very happy birthday on this occasion and hope he comes up with another directorial venture sometime soon in the future.
