Allu Sirish is the son of Mega Producer & brother of Stylish Star finding his own recognition in the film industry by featuring in interesting films. Okka Kshanam also falls under that interesting film category. Director VI Anand is known for giving the good films is now coming up with this ‘Parallel Life’ concept. Okka Kshanam trailer won the hearts of many and now we check whether it is the same with the movie or not in the below review.

Story:

Allu Sirish (Jeeva) & Surabhi (Jyotshna) fall for each other and share their liking for each other from the first sight itself. One fine day she gives green signal to turn their relationship from like to love. Gradually things turn interesting as both come across a couple (Srinivas Avasarala as Srinivas & Seerat Kapoor as Swathi) who live in the same building where Jyotshna lives. They seem to be an unhappy couple and keep quarrelling always.

One day Jeeva gets curious to know about the reason behind Srinivas-Swathi’s troubled life and he is under shock after listening to the Srinivas about their love life. Because it matches with the Jeeva-Jyotshna's love story and even the things happened between them seem to be similar to Sri-Swathi couple.

He starts research about this and discovers that this is called ‘Parallel Life’ and it is purely a science. In one sentence, What are the things that happen to Swathi implies to Jyotshna also. During the course of time, Srinivas kills her wife Swathi. Now as per the parallel life theory, Jeeva Kills Jyotshna or not unfolds on the screen.

Actors & Performances:

Allu Sirish: He showed his best in this film and in some scenes, he impressed the audiences with his acting. He is improving his acting skills as compared to his previous offerings.

Surabhi: She played the role of Jyotshna and this time her character demanded acting along with glamour. Well, she did a decent job in both the sections.

Seerat Kapoor: She got a meaty role in this flick and she utilized this opportunity to the fullest.

Srinivas Avasarala: Day by day his performance on the screen is becoming so big and beautiful. This character also drove him to showcase the best in him to us.

Dasari Arun Kumar: He is the surprise pack in the movie. The only ’Hitchki’ regarding him in the film is his voice (Some popular dubbing artist lent his voice).

Analysis:

Director VI Anand who got a very good name in the industry and audience for his choice of stories. For Okka Kshanam, he took ‘Parallel Life’ concept as the catalyst to create the curiosity among the audience. With this, he becomes successful to attract the audience to theatres with the beautiful trailer cut.

However, things got changed after the show. He took a murder mystery concept and mixed it with ‘Parallel Life’ concept and tried his best to garnish this subject with thrilling elements. Finally, the product turns out as a commercial thriller and it lacks the proper execution for this kind of genre films.

The second half-length becomes a big hurdle for the audience and some portions in the second half can be trimmed easily as they aren’t helping the main plot in any way. Finally, the director fails to make the whole film look in an engaging mode.

Technical Aspects:

Cinematography by Shyam K Naidu is top notch and BGM from Mani Sharma helps some scenes to get elevated on the screen. However, his songs get thumbs down.

Plus Points:

+ Parallel Life

+ Cinematography
+ Some Episodes

Minus Points:

- Movie Duration

- Climax
- Arun Kumar Voice

Final Verdict:

Okka Kshanam: Good concept overshadowed by mediocre execution.
