Satyadev comes up with a new movie in Telugu, titled Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya. It is the official remake of Maheshinte Prateekaram. Venkatesh Maha of C/O Kancharapalem is the director of the movie. Check out the review of the film here.
Uma Maheshwar aka Mahesh (Satyadev) faces humiliation when he tries to resolve a conflict between a stranger and his fellow villagers. Mahesh who always hates to get into fights then decides to take revenge against him. How did he complete the revenge? Forms the story of the film.
Satyadev is a brilliant performer who is capable of carrying films on his shoulders. But, somehow, in the film, he tries to copy Fahadh Faasil which is a disappointment. We don't get to see the original Satyadev in the film. But, his innocence makes us fall in love with him. The heroines hardly make an impact in the film. The other actors Naresh, TNR, Suhas and all make their presence felt.
Appu Prabhakar is the cinematographer of the movie. His camera work is excellent in the film. The editing by Ravi Teja Girijala is good. The dialogues are impressive in the movie. The music by Brijbal is just good. The songs could not make an impression.
The background score of the film is good for action scenes. The production values are good. The technical team has given their best for the movie.
Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya is a simple film that reveals the story of revenge. When an innocent and silent person sets out to take revenge, it can go to any extent. It is something that the director tried to convey through the movie.
However, the film runs at a slow pace and tests the patience of the audiences here and there. But, the film has got some great scenes which have Satyadev, performing to his best. The movie stands true to the original movie Maheshinte Prateekaram and is worth a watch on the streaming platform, Netflix.
The film could have better casting for some roles
Final Verdict: A classic tale of revenge!
