Dashing director Puri Jagannath's only son Akash Puri marked his debut with a love story titled 'Mehbooba' but the film failed at the box office and Aakash took a small break from the industry. The actor has finally made his come back with another youthful romantic entertainer titled 'Romantic'. Directed by a newcomer Anil Paduri, Puri Jagannath has penned the script, screenplay as well as dialogues for the film. Ketika Sharma is marking her Tollywood debut as a heroine with this film. Jointly bankrolled by Puri Jagannadh and Charmee Kaur, the film finally steered its way into the theatres today on October 29th, 2021. Let's check out the review of the film.

Story:
Vasco Da Gama (Aakash Puri) was born and brought up in the slums of Goa. He joins a gang of goons who are involved with drug dealing. Vasco gets a whopping deal that can change his life but he lands in a huge trouble because of the deal. He kills a cop and turns as the major target for the entire police department. A special officer Ramya Gowariker (Ramya Krishna) gets on board to arrest him. The rest of the story is all about Vasco's love story with Monika (Ketika Sharma), Vasco's dreams, and Ramya Krishna's chase behind Vasco.

Performances:
Aakash Puri is apt for the role and he fitted perfectly in his character. His chemistry with Ketika Sharma is top-notch. Be it in the action episodes or the romantic scenes, Akash Puri did a mature performance when compared to his debut film. Ketika Sharma looked outstanding on the screens. She is definitely one of the biggest plus points for the film.

Ramyakrishnan is truly an asset to this movie. Her mesmerizing performance is one of the major highlights of the film. Uttej played a key role in the film and delivered his best. Sunaina is good in her role and delivered an honest performance. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:
Anil Paduri packed the entire film with youthful elements. The first half is very slow but he picked up the pace in the second half and made the film interesting. Puri's script felt routine and his narration is very predictable. Especially in the second half most of the scenes go as expected and the film doesn't have any anything new to offer.

It felt like a regular story laced with romance and action. The dialogues are good and sensible. Music is definitely one of the highlights of the film. Both the songs and the BGM are truly impressive. The production values are decent. The cinematographer has produced some beautiful visuals and tried to give an eye feast for the audience.

Review:
The film has some decent performances and a bunch of entertaining elements. Anil Paduri handled the script well. Especially the racy narration in the second half engages the audience. The songs are too good and the climax is handled well. Overall, 'Romantic' is a predictable youthful entertainer laced with entertainment, action, and romance. The love story between the lead pair is showcased in a beautiful way. To conclude, the film is just a regular romantic drama and can be watched once.

Plus Points:
Performances
BGM
Production Values

Minus Points:
Routineness
Weak Narration

Verdict: Impressive Romantic Drama With Few Short Comings
