Angry star Dr Rajasekhar is back with an interesting project titled Sekhar. Playing the titular role in the film, the actor is happy to be directed by his wife Jeevitha. An official remake of the Malayalam hit film Joseph, Sekhar was released today in theatres. Everyone associated with the film is extremely excited about the result. The film's review is here. Do check out!

Story:
Shekhar (Rajashekar) is a retired police officer who is living all alone. He was once a big name in the police department who used to solve the criminal cases and investigate them thoroughly like no one else. One day, a murder brings him back to the field, where he gets haunted by the memories of his ex-wife Indu (Aathmeeya Rajan). She dies in an accident but it is during this time, that he comes to know that she was actually murdered. How does Shekar find the murderer? Did he solve the case? Who is behind the murder? Forms the film's story.

Performances:
Dr. Rajasekhar has given his best for the film. The best part of his performance is his look and the dubbing. As usual, Sai Kumar has done a great job by giving him a perfect voice. At the same time, the salt-and-pepper look suited Rajasekhar so well. He should pick more content-oriented films to make his presence felt.

Aathmeeya Rajan too justified her role as Rajashekar?s wife. She is good with looks and performed well. Shivani Rajashekar also shined in the film and it is good to see her acting alongside her father. Abhinav Gomatam, Prakash Raj, and other actors also made their presence felt. Altogether, the actors gave their best.

Technical Aspects:
Mallikarjun is the film's cinematographer and he has given his best. Dr. Rajasekhar looks young and handsome on the screen. The well-designed look of the actor was elevated perfectly on the big screen. The DOP also worked hard in showcasing the rural area beautifully.

The editing could have been better in terms of chopping some unnecessary boring scenes that diluted the thrilling factor. Anup Rubens is the music director who came up with a decent BGM. The songs failed to catch the attention. The dialogues are decent. The production values are good enough to elevate the vision of the director.

Review:
Shekhar definitely has a good storyline but when it comes to execution, it is more or less a faithful remake of the original. But the problem is that the makers failed to eliminate the routineness factors in the film. The film has a lot of boring portions which kill the pace of the movie. The emotional thread was not established well too. Despite that, the director tried her best to hold the thrilling factor. On the whole, Shekhar is a film that is routine but good in parts.

Plus Points:
Performances
BGM
Storyline

Minus Points:
Boring Scenes
Slow pace

Final Verdict: Shekar missed offering a thrilling ride!
