iQlik Rating: 2.75/5

'Mass Maharaj' Ravi Teja has been battling to score a big hit since 'Krack'. After the debacles of 'Khiladi' and 'Ramarao On Duty', he is coming up with another commercial entertainer 'Dhamaka' which hit the screens today. Let's dive into it.

Story:
Anand Chakravarthy is the billionaire son of the CEO of the company 'People Mart'. He, along with his company gets threatened when a dreaded businessman desires to take over their 'People Mart'. His unknown identical, Swamy, a middle-class citizen is also faced with a crisis and is forced to act upon but in a twist of events they end up in the same mess and how they handle the corporate giant forms the overall plot.

Performances:
Of course, Ravi Teja is an incredible actor and like any of his films, he carried this film too on his shoulder with much ease. We haven't seen him in a dual role until this film and he actually managed to pull off each role very comfortably

Sree Leela did a decent job too. Although she was given a typical Telugu heroine typecasted role, she did shine in her moments but the age factor seems to be uncomfortable on screen.

The film did manage to have a decent comedy track by the infamous comedian from the television 'Hyper' Aadi, and his scenes with Rao Ramesh were hilarious

Technical Departments:
'Dhamaka' is written by Prasanna Kumar Bezawada along with the director Trinadha Rao Nakkina, which is a hit combination in the industry. They have managed to score hit three times and expected the same with Ravi Teja. But unfortunately, they couldn't keep up with their work.

The music by Bheems Ceciroleo is one of the major strengths of this movie. With two chartbusters in the album, the background score have also worked very well for the film. The cinematography by Karthik Ghattamaneni looks rich and stylish on screen. Editing by Prawin Pudi could have been much crisper.

Analysis:
Ravi Teja is a man of energy and it is very evident at every event. It's still a big surprise how makers are failing to use his energy and screen presence to deliver even a decent hit film with him. Most of his film looks good on paper but on screen, they seem to fail and 'Dhamaka' falls under the same category.

The idea of a dual role is no new to the industry but casting Ravi Teja for it is a commendable thought and the makers straight away slip into the routine pot-boiler narration which is existed in the industry since the 90s. Almost every scene and twist is very much familiar to the audience, at one point the viewer could announce the next scene.

On the whole, "Dhamaka' is a routine story with outdated narration and very flat characters. Comedy & action works at parts but by the end of the film, even they go unnoticed.

Plus Points:
Ravi Teja
Music
Action Sequences

Minus Points:
Routine Plot
Flat narration

Final Verdict: Another Routine & Outdated film with less entertainment
