For some of you, Ramoji Film City might be a place of fun and an opportunity to see some film shootings but on a broader perspective, it is the vision of a man who saw this as a role model to the world of cinema at a global level. We are talking about the media baron Ramoji Rao and RFC is his brainchild.
However, on the flip side, though it is a one-stop shop for cinema, RFC has not got the required range of success. It is heard that Ramoji envisioned this place to be a destination even for Hollywood filmmakers and make it a unique choice. But the reason that didn’t happen is lack of international marketing.
Of course, when RFC began, Ramoji went to the US and lobbied about the place upto his stamina but that is not sufficient. A constant marketing agenda and that too on an aggressive note at an international scale is going to bring the required results. Today, RFC is the hub for regional language movies but if the right marketing strategy is adopted then even Hollywood will look towards it due to the various cost benefits RFC has to offer.
