Tamil Cinema on International Platform

With the advent of advanced technology it has become almost impossible for any cinema to remain outside the preview of globalisation and this is why Indian cinema in all its glory has become thoroughly internationalises over a wide arena. Bollywood as a film industry already has a strong international presence, but that does not minute a regional cinema from getting any further. All international platforms are now thoroughly utilised by regional Indian film industry specifically the South Indian film industry including the Tamil movie industry.

The South Indian International Movie Award one of the most prestigious movie awards in the industry has been getting quite a lot of attention off let. This award ceremony celebration was heralded with much pomp and glory by the very beautiful Shriya Saharn at a press conference in Dubai. Accompanying Shriya were the popular actors Rana Daggubati and Arya. Through this press conference they announced details of the second South Indian International Movie Awards. The movie awards have been scheduled to be held between 12th to 13th September and the award function will take place at none other than Sharjah Expo Centre. It will be exiting as the award ceremony short lists the best films among all the South Indian languages, so in reality it’s a battle between films of Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kanada languages. SIIMA is supposed to be a celebration of two days of action packed awards and fun times. It is a carefully planned award ceremony spread over two days. The first day would have the “generation next awards night” which will be hosted by the very glamorous Miss India World Parvathi Omanakuttan. The main aim of such a show is primarily to increase awareness about the South Indian films including Tamil cinema in the globalised world. For this reason the organisers of this ceremony had ensured that it would be held in a different country every year to increase awareness of the South Indian films in that country. This model of creating awareness is quite successful as has been proved by the IIFA awards of Bollywood which is aimed at creating awareness about the Bollywood films worldwide and follows the same model of holding its function at a different country every time. Apart from creative awareness of the South Indian films it should also be able to create a market for South Indian films abroad. In fact it would also help in publicising the whole lot of South Indian films being produced every year. As the competition grows among films a film industry needs to broaden its horizon to include a lot more greener pastures to commercialise its product. These kinds of award functions are meant to serve this purpose. This view have also been reflected in the word soft Vishnuvardhan Induri who is founder and the MD of SIIMA.

The actors who have been involved in the project are also very excited to be a part of the bigger picture of South Indian films. The award function is suppose to be jam packed with breath taking performances by some of the biggest names in South Indian cinema. This would definitely bring in the wow factor in the award function and give it the zing that is necessary to draw attention. The award function with all its glory and fame was certainly being taken the shape of the flag bearer of the South Indian films.

Every single award function not just popular raises the film industry but also gives the actors and actresses the yearly motivational boost that is required. Every single actor in a film industry needs some motivation to work for such TDS schedules that could stretch over a few months to years. This would essentially be one of the ways to boost up their morale of the actors in a simple yet realistic manner. Each year the award function would bring with itself celebrations and hopes for the years ahead by providing the necessary fodder.
