Telugu film industry is going through a rough patch in the recent time. The producers and distributers were already at thecliff ends with revolts and agitations after the Telanga region being born. The agitations in Semandhra region has literally crippled down the production of big budget movies in Tollywood in the last two months now. To add more to the fuel, the on-going drop in rupees over foreign currency totally shattered the production houses in Tollywood. With the unprecedented fall in rupee in the money market the budget of movies seem to become a staggering high. The recent trend in Tollywood of shooting classic songs in foreign locales can really turn out to be a cause of worry with the fall of rupee value.
Production charges increases
With the recent set back in the economy of India, the shooting abroad is truly becoming a nightmare of most of the production companies down South. Some of the recent high budget movies like Ramayya Vastavayy of Junior NTR or say Mahesh Babu’s powerful flick 1 feels the heat now. They all feel that the ticket for the movies can be one of the biggest concerns as the money value decreased in a huge percentile.

Small producers have to restrain in budget line
Owing to the big budget film who have to look out for some alternative locations and sets for their great dream song sequence, but the small producers are also feeling the heat. Previously with cost of fuel and petroleum prices hiked, they already filtered out some of their locations where they can set in their niche. Now with the decrease in the value of price added more to it. The small time producers are depressed with recent economic fall and are in no clinch to market or set in new movie. Already the losses from the agitations have made it a dooms a day on Tollywood for these producers and latest addition have further aggravated to it.
Some tricks by the producers to cut down cost
While some producers are cutting down on the number of days of shooting, like if a film was originally propped to be carried for a shooting duration of 10 days is now sliced down and wrapped up within 6 days. But there are some visionary investors in Tollywood who also see this phase as a silver lining. The movie rights sold in the European countries during this phase will fetch in more returns than the one sold some couple of months back.
