With the film industry growing like never before, very few actors have been able to keep their influence on the big screen. Saif Ali Khan, is one such name. The nawaab made his acting debut in 1992 with Yash Chopra’s Parampara. Since then Saif has played countless roles in many hit films. His next venture is Bullet Raja, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
Saif plays a rustic role in this movie. But his love interest, played by Sonakshi Sinha, is Bengali and Saif turns a Bengali bridegroom. Perfecting almost every role he has played till now, from Main Khiladi Tu Anari to Hum Tum, from Omkara to Race, Saif is under much hype for this challenging role. Playing a rowdy wouldn’t be new to Saif, after Langda Tyagi in Omkara, but portraying a Bengali bridegroom for the first time would be something to look forward to. Apart from being set in Uttar Pradesh, a major part of this movie has also been shot in parts of Kolkata. Bengali actor Debjani Ghosh plays the role of Sonakshi’s grandmother in the movie. She has also shared the screen with Shatrughan Sinha and Sharmila Tagore.
The shooting of the film began in Lucknow. And also in Mumbai and in Kolkata for some major parts of the film . Both real and fake guns have been used during shooting while Saif used real guns for realistic look. The actors shot in the Dalhousie area of central Kolkata and other locations such as Princep Ghat, Kumartuli, flower market and the famous Laha Bari. After completion of the shooting in Kolkata, the crew turned back to Lucknow. The final part of the shooting is scheduled in Nashik.
For all the Bollywood fans, Bullet Raja is a very promising upcoming flick, with a close look into the underworld and with equal doses of action and romance. But the thing that makes this movie a must watch, is the Nawaab’s portrayal of a Bengali bridegroom for the first time.
