Film industries are all about rifts and drifts; stranger turns into a friend at some point of time whereas friend turns into enemy. These things turn out to make the industries a lot uncertain and complicated at the same time. The same scenario is with the Telegu film industry, where friends turn into rivals while praising their friends.
The Telegu film industry has experienced a lot of success in the recent while which was covered only due to the amazing movies and the directors behind them who could innovate stories which turns into blockbusters. Both Rajamouli and Sukumar are two such praiseworthy directors and once good friends without any familiar competition.
Known for films like Magadheera and Eega, Rajamouli has won the National Film Award for Best Special effects and is still continuing his journey as one of the successful and very demanding director. Sukumar on the other hand has won the film fare award for his first film Arya and now he has earned a lot of success for his recent movie 1 Nennokadine which gained a mixed response from the critics but a huge response from Mahesh Babu’s fans.
Friends and Competitors
Though it is a familiar fact that Rajamouli likes Sukumar but the fact is contradicted by Rajamouli recent interview in which he claimed that his friend, Sukumar is his biggest competitor in terms of direction and screenplay.
After reviewing the most awaited movie of this New Year, Mahesh Babu’s 1 Nennokadine Rajamouli was impressed with Sukumar’s direction and screenplay. Immediately he tweeted praising the movie and also Mahesh babu’s acting. According to Rajamouli in an interview it was an outstanding movie and the way the movie was pictured on screen with the dialogues and the emotions was commendable for the director to deliver.
Rajamouli considered both the media and appeared in front of many TV channels in order to praise 1 Nennokadine. There have been interviews involving both the directors where Rajamouli had all the praises for Sukumar. In one of those rare interviews Rajamouli pointed out something which is believed to change the relationship status in between them.
Rajamouli commented on his amazement after watching the film Arya that Sukumar was born in this Telegu film industry in order to compete with him. Sukumar has high standards when it comes to movies and so taking him as a competition will be quite a task. Rajamouli also mentioned that this was the only reason for breaking his friendship with Sukumar and this will be the only reason for any further disputes. He also felt that some scenes were so perfect in the movie that at times there was a feeling of jealousy around him. He also mentioned that if they were not good friends then this jealousy would have been around him for a long time.
Conclusion
After listening to Rajamouli and reading his tweets Sukumar smiled and saluted him in sarcasm and respected him by traditionally folding his hands. This might lead to very odd circumstances in between them and also affect the peace of the industry.
