First Telugu movie to be simultaneously featured on DTH and theatres

After the controversies and the failures issued from the block buster Vishwaroopam regarding its first release on DTH screen and theatres simultaneously, Minukumanna Minugurulu will be the first Telugu movie to be released simultaneously on direct-to-home (DTH) and cinemas. On this January 24th on Airtel Digital TV the movie will be released which is under the telecom operator Bharti Airtel Ltd at around 00.30 hours. It is said that the movie won’t be available for a very long time but only for a period of five days and that will be till January 28th on the 157 numbered channel of the Airtel Digital network. Booking for the customers of the network had already started at the charge of hundred per day through a message. By paying that much the customers can enjoy all of the eight shows which will be screened on that day.
The movie has already being honored at the 18th International Children’s Film Festival (ICCFI) and so the audience is waiting for its release on both the screens. Though the film was an edited version of the actual release but it was still very much appreciated.

Story and Effects

The film circles around the lives of forty visually impaired and orphaned children who exposed the wrong deeds of the warden of the orphanage. It is basically about a thirteen year old boy named Raju who lost his vision in an accident whose father after the accident sent him to this orphanage which is under a man who is basically doing injustice to the money and the students there. Raju along with his friends makes a video and reveals the true face of the man running the orphanage. The film depicts the high intensity of the mixture of human emotions and the world which is way beyond what we notice it to be. The movie is also selected for six other film festival and gaining huge publicity prior to its official release.

The Difference

Vishwaroopam faced a great opposition from the owners of different theatres regarding the loss they will encounter if the movie releases on DTH and theatres simultaneously. This movie Minukumanna Minugurulu on the contrary is gaining support and is also priced at a low value as compared to Kamal Hasan’s block buster Vishwaroopam on the DTH screen. It will be charged with a rate of hundred per day while Vishwaroopam was said to be charged at the rate of thousand per day.

Conclusion

This movie is not going to be like one of those mainstream movies related to action comedy or romance and may be this is the reason for its simultaneous release on both the screens. It’s not like any of those big budget movies either which has a strong cast or all but the movie has got a real good story which is believed to attract a lot of audience. There can be a loss to the theatres considering its release on the DTH screen simultaneously but on the other hand if the film does not cover well on the theatres then there is always another option left for the makers to cover their loss.
