Kochadaiyaan' to be released in six languages

Rajnikanth’s upcoming Tamil film, Kochadaiyan, has recently hit the news for being shot in six different languages. This film, which is set to release on the 11th of the month of April in the year 2014, has been dubbed in 6 local languages, namely, Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Bhojpuri Tamil and Telugu. While the film has been originally made in Tamil, the Telugu version of the film is named Vikramasimha. Apart from these 6 Indian languages, the film has also been dubbed in English in order to be released at the international screens. For the first time in the history of Indian Cinema, a film is being released in 6 regional languages.

About the movie:

Kochadaiyaan is a period film, based on the historical character by the same name, who was an emperor of the 8th century. The name literally means a king who has long and curly hair. It is an animated 3D motion capture film. The film is a directorial venture of Soundarya R. Ashwin, and has been penned by K. S. Ravikumar. South Indian film’s most loved actor, Rajnikanth, will be featured in the film, voicing and enacting 3 of the lead roles. The other important and supporting characters will be voiced and enacted by well- known actors like DeepikaPadukone, Aadhi, R. Sarathkumar, Shobana, Nassar, Jackie Shroff and RukminiVijaykumar. With some portions of the film shot with the use of motion capture in 3D, the film has majorly been shot with animation techniques.The cinematography of the film has been handled by Rajiv Menon, with Oscar- winning music director, A. R. Rahman handling the soundtrack and background score. It has been produced by Media One Global Entertainment and Eros International.

The post- production work of the film has been completed in China, Hong Kong, The Unites States and the United Kingdom, after the completion of the shooting of the film in the end of the month of February in 2013. The film was sent for clearance to the Indian Censor Board, and it managed to receive a Clean U from it, meaning that the film is officially worth being watched by film buffs of different age groups.

Marketing of the film:

The Team of the movie is busy with the marketing of the film. Its audio will be hitting the stores on the 9th of March, 2014. Both the Tamil and the Telugu audios will be released on that day at one of the major multiplexes, along with the official release of the film’s trailer. There are plans to set up at least a hundred hoardings in the city of Chennai alone. But, one of the most highlighted marketing methods employed by the film’s team is the pact with Karbonn Mobiles, one of the sponsors of the film, who will be launching Rajnikanth branded mobile phones of the Kochadaiyaan range. The Karbonn Kochadaiiyaan Signature Phone Series will include android based phones like Karbonn A36, A6+ and Titanium S5i, as well as feature phones: Legend 2.4 and 2.8. These phones will offer an Augmented Reality App, along with other Kochadaiyaan movie content like screensavers, images, videos, dialogues and songs of the film that captures photo realistic performance.
