Man of the Moment
PawanKalyan is a very famous Telugu actor in Tollywood. He is not only an actor but also a screenwriter, martial artist, choreographer, director, stunt coordinator and is known predominantly for his contributions to the telugu film industry. The younger brother of veteran actor turned politician Chiranjeevi has rendered some notable hits like ‘Akkada AmmayiIkkada Abbayi’, ‘Gabbar Singh’ etc. but recently he has turned his attention towards politics.
He ventured towards the ruthless game of politics in March 2014 amid an atmosphere of elections in the country. Thus in the process, he founded his very own party under the title ‘Jana Sena Party’. He received a lot of fame due to this and in a survey undertaken by NDTV; it was found that he was the most searched celebrity turned politician personality on Google, way ahead of Kumar Vishwas of famed Aam Admi Party.
Goals and Beliefs
Believing that politics has come to be associated with all kinds of wrong-doing like opportunism, corruption, manipulation, deceiving and lying, he has cleared that he does not think of himself as a politician. Saying that he has observed a rise in anger amongst the people with a decline in the quality of politicians, he claimed that his aim in forming the Jana Sena Party was to reach out to such individuals so as to forms strong connections with them and serve the country.
Unlike other politicians whose only aim is to resort to whatever means possible to be in power and hold on to their political office, Pawan Kalyan wants to create a new force to get rid of the present frustration with the help of tools such as cleanliness, sincerity, discipline and undying value.
His mantra to create socially conscious people gained popularity overnight and a major part of the Telugu populace were supporting him when suddenly he decided not to contest stating that he did not want to divide the vote bank as it will not bode well for anybody thus defeating their purpose.
Entertainment of sorts
Pawan’s political ideologies and acting fame has earned innumerable fans. In the launch of their booklet and his maiden speech on behalf of his party, his fans performed to his party song. No one had any clue regarding the performance and supporters streamed in from various obscure corner of the gathered crowd to shake a leg to the tune of the Jana Sena Party Theme Song. The Flash Mob lasted for 5:13 minutes whole and took place in Rajahmundry. This evidence of the actor turned politician’s hold over the region’s public who were ready to support him whole heartedly and the Flash Mob was a token of love from them to him. It also served well in attracting attention of the rest of the country to this new party as the video went viral over the internet just minutes after the performance ended.
Taking the opportunity the party founder also said that all politicians who are unjust in accumulating wealth and keep on changing their values to suit their personal needs are society’s enemy and should be brought to justice.
