Ilaiyaraaja
Ilaiyaraaja is basically an Indian musician and music composer who mostly gives music in the South Indian movies. He has composed not less than 5000 songs till date and also gained the name for his background scores specially. He has given background scores for more than 1000 films and is the only composer to do that till date. He has introduced the western touch in the South Indian films. He has organized a full symphony and performed in London and he is the second Indian other than Ravi Shankar. He has won many awards including four national awards. Three for music composing and one for background music. Ilaiyaraaja also received gold medals in classical guitar from Trinity College of Music.
Music style of Ilaiyaraaja
Illaiyaraaja is born in a village where he learns much about the Indian folk music. He first started in a troupe and then he got his first opportunity in film music composing. This is where he got his first exposure to the Indian cinema. It can be said that he was one of the few composers who uses western type of music. His visualization sense is one of the reasons why he can craft the exact music for the running movie. Apart from working in the music he also built two non musical albums which is generally a fusion of both the Indian and western music. The first was the ‘How to name it’ and the second was the ‘Nothing but Wind’. His music made many of the composed songs to make an entry to the Oscars like the Swati Muthayam and the Nagayan to name a few.
Ilaiyaraaja got tribute
The whole Film industry recently paid a tribute to the much talented composer Ilaiyaraja. Amitabh Bachhan, Rajnikanth, Kamal Hasan, Aishwariya Rai, Jaya Bachhan were all present in the occasion where tribute was paid to the legendary Ilaiyaraaja due tio his composing music of his 1000 th movie. The tribute was paid in the music launch of the upcoming movie Shamitabh where all the entire cast was present. In the occasion Amitabh Bachhan and Dhanush did a live performance. Dhanush also told in that moment that he is a truest fan of Ilaiyaraaja and also said that in the music of Dhanush he was the biggest inspiration. And all of his inspiration for his work comes from the Illaiyaraaja’s music. Also Abhishek Bachhan who was also present in that function told that he felt honored and over whelmed that he could be a part of that. Ilaiyaraaja gave the music of Shamitabh which is his 1000 th movie to give music. Three legendary actors Kamal Hasan, Rajnikant and Amitabh Bachhan were together in the same place fop felicitating the undoubtedly best awesome music composer. They all sat together after the felicitation ceremony and started sharing their experiences of their work. The moment was a very precious and rare moment that the Film industry saw in much time and we are a great fan of Ilaiyaraaja as everyone.
