The American organization for animal rights abbreviated as PETA which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has been working since 1980 for the protection of animals and their rights. It campaigns not only against the animal abuse prevailing these days but also fur farming, animal entertainment and animal eating and even experiments which can hurt animals with the help of its millions of supports and members which includes a lot of celebrities and stars like Drew Barrymore, Pamela Anderson, Bill Maher and even Alicia Silverstone and a lot of them. The popular British model who has incurred name and fame in the Bollywood industry as well as the South Indian film industry, Amy Jackson is now selected as the new face for this organization. She has signed for the new advertisement for one of the campaign of PETA. Amy had a successful carrier in the industry and she received a nomination in the Vijay Award for the best debut actress for her marvelous performance in her first Tamil film Madrasapattinam without any acting experience and she was ranked seven in the list of the most promising debutants by Times of India.
The New Face
Honored with pageants like the Miss Teen Great Britain and Miss Teen Liverpool and the title of Miss Teen World in the year of 2009 Amy Jackson will be appearing holding a cat for the PETA advertisement.
She has been delivered with the look of an angel holding her cat known as Alfie which she has rescued along with the tagline which mentioned that all of us should be angel to animals by adopting them and not just buying them. This advertisement was shot by the talented Nikki Lyons. She believes that every time a cat or dog is being brought by a breeder shop or any pet shop an animal on streets losses the opportunity to find a better place to live in. She also mentioned that present trend of animals without homes or proper shelters can be put to an end by adopting pets from the animal shelter instead of pet shops or breeders and providing them the warmth of our own hearts and homes.
She also shared her story mentioning that Alfie was six weeks old when she found him and one more kitten on the footpath of a busy road in a box with three other dead kittens. Her sister Alicia Jackson adopted the other kitten and named it Frankie.
