On a geographical note, Manasarovar is a lake located in the Tibet Autonomous Region and on a religious note, it has a very sacred place in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. The first time Telugu audience got a glimpse of it was in the year 1989 through the film Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari when megastar Chiranjeevi comes to Manasarovar.

Of course, all this was created on the shooting floor of a studio and it was a complete indoor setup. During those days, public didn’t have exposure and they didn’t see the videos of real Manasarovar. But lately, thanks to Chinna Jeeyar Swami, Jaggi Vasudev, due to their spiritual tourism to Manasarovar awareness has increased.

Even general tourism is also happening and photos, videos are reaching people through Youtube. So, they have got an idea of how it looks like. This was quite justified onscreen in the 2014 release Yamaleela 2. Those who saw the film said the CG work is good and it is very close to original Manasarovar. Well, this goes to show how technology has developed in the cine circuit.
