One more jewel from the crown of Indian music is lost! Before we could digest maestro MS Viswanathan’s demise, singing great Vissamraju Ramakrishna is no more.

The 68yr old singing great is battling cancer from past few years and he breathed his last in the wee hours of this morning at his residence in Ventagiri Hills, Hyderabad.  He is survived by his wife, daughter and son (Saikiran of Nuvve Kavali fame).

The legendary singer was born on the 20th of August 1947 in Vizianagaram. Having inspired from legendary singers Ghantasala & P. Suseela (was her close relative too), Ramakrishna forayed into the singing world with Vichitra Bandham in 1972 and went on to sing many classics in films like Alluri Seetaram Raju, Bhakta Kannappa and so on.

Ramakrishna’s last rites shall be held this evening. We pay our deepest condolences to the great soul and pray for strength to his family.
