The maverick filmmaker Teja made into the small budget film arena after the remarkable success of his debut film Chitram. Though this director worked as an assistant to senior director like Ram Gopal Varma, he made sure a unique persona exists in his films.
Teja has a queer take on society, relationships and characterizations which established him as a promising talent to look for. Teja then scored back to back hits like Nuvvu Nenu and Jayam which made even Mahesh Babu work with him for Nijam which focused on corruption. However, Teja’s crisp talk off the filmdom has attracted many controversies as well. He couldn’t manage to score a Box Office hit off late and was struggling to make an impact since then.
His latest film Hora Hori also bombed at the Box Office but the director is determined to score another hit now. He is going to make a multilingual flick under the prestigious banner UTV motion pictures and interestingly, controversial cricketer Sreeshanth will be the role of hero!
To make things even more interesting, the storyline of the film is based on real life IPL betting and cricket controversies for which Sreeshanth was greatly associated with. Usually, Teja pens his own scripts but this time, he will confine to only directorial responsibilities. The film also has a strong team in the form of Bollywood composer Pritam and ace cinematographer Ratnavel as well.
If this clicks, Teja will be back with a bang again!
