"96", the biggest hit of Tamil industry in recent times hasn't seen enough light yet. The film released in October and enticed almost everyone who watched it. There are some Telugu people who went all the way to Chennai to watch the film.
You may wonder why going to Chennai physically when the films are available online these days. Yes, any film that releases in theatres is making its presence either on Amazon or on Netflix in a month or two. But "96" is a film that preferred not to appear online and make the maximum possible from theatrical collections till now.
The film has Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha in lead roles and it goes on a nostalgic love story. Though the plot may sound obsolete, the making of "96" proves absolutely mesmerizing. The film is now going to be made in Telugu with Gopichand in lead role. Dil Raju is producing the film while the original director Prem Kumar himself is wielding the Telugu megaphone as well. Since it's a directorial feat, the producer is not risking to attempt with any other director.
Harish Shankar's name was heard before but that proved wrong. Nani and Samantha were approached initially but both of them were not keen on a remake film now. So the chance has come to Gopichand. We have to see who will be the most crucial female lead.
