After Tholiprema, filmmaker Venky Atluri came up his next directorial 'Mr Majnu' with Akhil Akkineni and Nidhhi Agerwal in the lead. The film which released worldwide on 25th January has opened to mixed response from audiences.
According to trade analysts, the romantic drama collected around Rs 3 Crore on day-1 of release, from two Telugu speaking states. The box office figures are expected to see some growth during the weekend. Also, the advance bookings on Republic day (holiday) is going to help the movie to have a good first weekend. Mr Majnu has collected a share of Rs 90 lakhs in Nizam (Telangana) and Rs 40 lakhs in Ceeded.
On the first day, Mr Majnu has earned a share of Rs 21 lakhs in East, 26 lakhs in West, 26 lakhs from Krishna, 54 lakhs from Guntur and 45 lakhs from Vizag region. It's not a bad start for Akhil's film which was produced by BVSN Prasad under SVCC banner. Thaman SS has scored audio tunes for the film and George C Williams is the cameraman.
