Nikky ( Nidhhi Agerwal) is an NRI Girl who stays in the UK. She wants a husband who has the qualities of Lord Rama. She accidentally meets Vikky( Akhil ) who is doing Masters in London. Though Nikky hates him in the first as he is a big flirt, she eventually falls for him. They both travel to India for a wedding and she finds out his true side which makes her fall for him. Within a short time, Vikky misses her and wants to get her love back. He follows her to the UK. Did he succeed in convincing her? How? Forms the crux of the story.
Akhil is definitely the show stealer for this film. He has shown his next acting skills in this movie. Even in the emotional scenes, he has proved that he could perform much better than his previous films. His dialogue delivery is honest and deserves appreciation. Nidhhi Agerwal delivered honest and beautiful performances. Izabelle Leite is beautiful and did her best essaying the role. Vidyullekha and Priyadarshi will definitely bring laughter in the theatres with their performance. Rao Ramesh again delivered an honest and impactful performance. Subbaraju and Nagababu delivered did their best portraying their roles. Pavitra Lokesh deserves appreciation for her performance. Rao Ramesh and Jayaprakash were also at their best.
Despite having a simple story, director Venky Atluri knows how to make it in an entertaining way. He prepared a simple story and presented it on the screen in a beautiful way and makes the audience stick to their chairs. He handled the story in a beautiful way. BVSN Prasad's production values under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra banner are very rich. The beautiful cinematography by George C Williams grabs the attention. He produced some bright and colourful visuals which are appreciable. Music by SS Thaman is good. More than the songs, BGM will definitely strike the time with the audience. Editing by Naveen Nooli is clean and neat.
'Mr. Majnu' is a very simple story. At times, it is also predictable which bores the audience but is a watchable film with some issues. The movie starts with on an entertaining note. The first half of the film is filled with entertainment, romance and some hilarious scenes which engage the audience. The interval bang is good. On the flip side, the second half is somewhat heavy with the drama. It is a bit slow as well. On the whole, 'Mr. Majnu' is a full-length romantic entertainer with a sweet and simple story.
Few hiccups in the second half
Final Verdict: Impressive Majnu in the Theatres
