Star hero Dhanush enjoys a massive fandom across India and his films generate sensational openings at all the release centres. Still, many of his upcoming movies are opting for a direct digital release.

According to the Kollywood media, Dhanush's upcoming film Maaran, which is being directed by Karthick Naren, will have a direct digital release on Disney+Hotstar. Apparently, it will premiere during the Pongal festive season in 2022.

The theatres have opened across the country and movies started doing well at the box office. It is still unclear why producers are reportedly thinking of a direct OTT release in these promising times.

Recently, it was also reported that Dhanush's Hindi film Atrangi Re, co-featuring Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan, is also opting for a direct digital release.

A few other sources also stated that the Asuran actor's another Tamil film Thiruchitrambalam is opting for an OTT release as well. Thiruchitrambalam features Raashi Khanna, Nitya Menen and Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female leads.

On the other side, the actor is all set to make his Hollywood debut with Netflix original film The Grey Man. It will have a confirmed digital release as the film is being backed by Netflix.

Going by all these reports, it looks like Dhanush will have four direct OTT releases in the coming days. Already, his recent film Jagame Thandhiram had a direct release on Netflix.
