Jamuna, a veteran actress known for her work in the Indian film industry, has passed away at the age of 86. Born as Jana Bai in Hampi, Karnataka, Jamuna began her career on the stage before transitioning to films. Her performance in the 1952 film Puttillu, directed by Dr. Garikipati Raja Rao, marked her debut in the industry. She went on to act in over 200 films in Telugu, Tamil, and other South Indian languages, as well as in Hindi films. She won the Filmfare award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Hindi film Milan (1967).

Unfortunately, her husband died in 2014 due to cardiac arrest.

Many Telugu film personalities and leaders have sent condolences on the news of Jamuna's passing. She will be remembered for her contributions to the Indian film industry and for her talent as an actress.
