Story:

The entire story is going to revolve around a Palegar in Rayalaseema, Narasimha Reddy. The story is set in 1847 during which Narasimha Reddy revolts against the atrocities of Britishers. Majjari Narasimha Reddy (Megastar Chiranjeevi) is one of the 61 Independent Palegars who works in that region. He works under the British system and pay taxes. One day, drought hits Rayalaseema but the Britishers insist to pay taxes on land. This becomes a conflict point between Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and the Britishers. Narasimha Reddy unites the rest of the Palegars and other people and revolt against the Britishers. What happened next forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

We can say that no other actor other than Megastar Chiranjeevi could have portrayed the role with such intensity as the senior Hero did. Be it his screen presence or his striking performance, everything about Megastar's performance is top-notch. He looks regal and royal as Narasimha Reddy and it is evident that he has worked extremely hard for the film especially in the war sequences as well. Sudeep Kiccha's terrific performance added more strength for the film. His dialogue delivery will grab the attention of the audience. Amitabh Bachchan's screen presence is very less but his character is established in a strong way and Big B has delivered mesmerizing performance. Vijay Sethupathi is indeed one of the finest actors and has once again gone under the skin of the character. Nayanthara breathes life into her character and added more intensity to the film. Tamannaah also delivered her career-best performance in the film. Jagapathi Babu has portrayed the role supremely well. Brahmaji also brings dignity to the film. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:

A part of the credit should definitely go to director Surender Reddy for showcasing the story of the unsung hero Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and narrating it in a hard-hitting way. He has not only picked up a powerful story but also narrated it in the most impactful way. Especially, during the war sequences, the audience will definitely get goosebumps and his narration will definitely raise the patriotic feelings in the audience. Production values by Ram Charan under Konidela Productions are top-notch. The movie has some top-class technical values. Cinematographer R. Rathnavelu has produced superb visuals which also gave a grand look for the film. Music by Amit Trivedi is excellent. All the songs are placed perfectly in the film. Also, the BGM by Julius Packiam is mind-blowing. Editing by A Sreekar Prasad is decent.

Review:

The movie is a beautifully narrated story of an amazing person who revolted against the atrocities of East India Company. The first 10 minutes of the movie itself will make the audience connect the story. The first half is handled in an amazing way. One of the striking points is the scale of the film. The huge budget spent is clearly visible and VFX work is topnotch. The stellar cast is undoubtedly the major highlight of the film. The first half of the film is superb and showcases the growth of Uyyawalada Narasimha Reddy. There will be no drag in the narration which also became a plus point for the film. Though there are way too many characters that come and go into the proceedings, the director succeeded in giving importance to each and every character and made their presence felt. Also, all the characters have been introduced in a beautiful way. Some of the scenes like Chiru's letter reading, hanging scene are presented in a terrific way. On the whole, 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' is a must-watch movie and a perfect tribute.
