'War' is undoubtedly one of the much-awaited movies in Bollywood at the moment. As two stars like Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff are going to appear on the silver screens together, the expectations have always been high on this film. Ever since the movie got announced, the audience has been eager to watch the film on the silver screens. Touted to be an action thriller, Siddharth Anand helmed this project. Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films banner pooled resources for this high budget film. Vaani Kapoor played the female lead in this movie. Amid high expectations, the film has finally made it into the theatres today on October 2nd, 2019. Let's see how far the film succeeded in reaching the expectations.


Story:


Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) and Khalid (Tiger Shroff) work for Indian intelligence agencies. The film opens with Kabir becoming the bad guy. Despite being one of the most sincere officers, Kabir targets the important members of the agency and the Indian military and kills them. Khalid who considers Kabir as a mentor tries to find Kabir and arrest him. The story goes back to a flashback that showcases how Kabir and Khalid first met etc. Will Khalid be able to find Kabir? Why is Kabir targetting them? What happens in the end forms the rest of the story.



Performances:


Hrithik Roshan's power-packed performance is definitely the show stealer of this movie. The actor has showcased his versatility as an actor and his mind-blowing performance became one of the major driving factors behind the movie. Tiger Shroff delivered his career-best performance in this movie. It is evident that the actor has competed well with Hrithik in terms of acting as well as dance. Vaani Kapoor looked absolutely stunning in the movie. Her screen presence itself will grab the attention of the audience. She also delivered an honest performance in the movie. Ashutosh Rana's powerful performance added more strength for the movie. Dipannita Sharma delivered a decent performance. Anupriya Goenka is too good in her role and justified her role with her energetic performance. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.


Technical Aspects:


Siddharth Anand has picked up a really interesting storyline for this movie. Each and every scene will increase the interest among the audience and his captivating screenplay became the highlight of the film. His engaging narration will be the biggest asset for this film. The way Siddharth Anand has taken the storyline and designed each and every character of the film is pretty impressive. Production values by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films banner are lavish. Abbas Tyrewala dialogues are the backbone of the film and some of his dialogues are really thought-provoking. Music by Vishal-Shekhar is outstanding. Also, the background score by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara added more strength for the film. Cinematographer Benjamin Jasper has produced some sleek visuals for the movie. Editing by Arif Shaikh is clean and neat.


Review:

Though the movie is an action thriller, the director not only concentrated on delivering some breathtaking action sequences but also gave equal importance to the storyline of the film. Having a solid story can be the biggest plus point of this film. The first 10 minutes of the movie itself will engage the audience and the entire first half is racy as well as interesting. The interval twist will give a surprise to the audience. The second half is also handled well and the director has maintained the same pace of narration throughout the film. Especially the pre-climax and climax scenes are just mind-blowing. Performances, breathtaking visuals and powerful action sequences can be considered as the plus points of this film. Overall, 'War' is definitely a must-watch movie and will give a thrilling ride for the audience.
