In August, this is normally a time of celebration in India, and has lots revenue earning scope, many big cinemas eyes for releases. But, with agitation pool accumulating problems with distributors the small films took it on their show down. Normally when a big budget film or a super star releases his film, the movie normally sets to conquer at least 1500 screens. This has been a trend in the recent times by most of the big budgeted movies to stall in a height rate of investment on the Box office. Thus, normally all the multiplexes and the cinema theatres are packed with the high end movies. The small budget movies normally looks in for time when no big release dates are there. Seeing the last two month, which actually was festive occasion of the year, there were many big projects like AD, and Yavaadu to hit the screens. But the on-going agitations pushed them back.

The nine districts who hauled the agitation left the big budget films stranded in the way to release. Many cinema theatres were closed down as distributors were not willing to take in risk. Though seeing the uncertain situation but some producers of small budget films noticed that the multiplexes were running empty screens, so they took this opportunity on their stride to make it theirs. As most of the low budget films have fewer viewers to attract, so it was a risk, but for some it was a risk that paid them well.

Success rate in these two months

Though seeing the availability of screen space there were a 50 films that released in this short tenure, but only few had tasted their success. A film releasing and getting screens is not the only way that a film can eye on success, there are promotions, branding and interactions also that involves in it. Though according to some of Industry insiders of the Tollywood, releasing 50 odd films in 2 months means a collective success as a whole. As there is normal situation a 10% over the budget of the movie is actually the hit declaration, but in this case and owing to situations it can predominantly term as a hit. So success in real terms can be said in good way for the Tollywood by releasing 50 films in short time.
