The traditional garment: –

Dhoti, the Indian traditional garment has been used as a costume for various regional and Bollywood films including the Telegu cinema. It has an appeal which is timeless classic and conventional. Many actors have embraced the use of the garment which can be worn to portray a simple village role and also a rich and aristocratic one. The South Indian versatile actor Dhanus is no exception to this. He has been quite a talented actor who believes in getting under the skin of the character of his films. Naturally so he has to wear the costumes which would make his roles even more pronounced and easily deliverable. In the upcoming film “Varuthapadatha Vibar Sangam” he flaunts a dhoti with absolute ease and thus opens up a new chapter in his traditional ways.

Love for traditions: –

In the various functions that he attends he has been off late seen in a vesti which is a dhoti draped in a traditional South Indian manner. When enquired about his new found love for the garment he was candid in admitting that the garment has become quite a part of him and that he feels he would comfortable in it anywhere any time. He also added that being a man from a Tamilian background dhoti had to be his preferred choice of garment over the years. True to his words he was seen wearing a vesti and a checked shirt for some of his events. The love for the traditional garment he points out his also due to the comfort level he shares with the attire.

 

Conclusion: –

Respect for the traditional outfits has been quit a rage in the Telegu cinema and Dhanush is just seen as an extension of such respect. But going deeper it has to understand that he always had the respect intact and also the candid statements about comfort levels does show his deeper affection for traditional attires. His last film “Raanjhanaa” which was critically acclaimed also found him in deep traditional ways of life. It just proves that Dhanush is not just a versatile actor but also one who respects his traditions as an individual and would never part ways with it.
