‘Roja’ by Mani Ratnam was the first film where Arvind Swamy played the lead protagonist. The movie was amongst the greatest hits all across the country. His outstanding performance in the movie proved his skills and talent as an actor. Movies such as ‘Sapnay’ and ‘Bombay’ established him as a world-class actor.
Though acting was never a conventional option for the actor and thus, he has always been particular about his roles. He has acted in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Hindi films and the most prominent hits were Roja, Minsaara, Bombay, Indira and Kanavu.

But according to the latest news, he has signed his next Bollywood movie which will be a bilingual film Hindi-Tamil. In Bollywood, Arvind Swamy, last acted in the movie called Raja Ko Rani Ae Pyar Ho Gaya during the year 2000 and it is almost after 13 years he will be seen in a Bollywood movie. It was confirmed by the star himself that the film will be made under the direction of Mahesh Manjrekar and other artists are yet to be finalized.
It is also heard that Arvind Swamy will also be playing the lead role of the protagonist in an untitled movie which is the remake of an awar-winning Marathi movie named Kaksparsh which will also be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The movie, Kaksparsh is a historical drama that displays the bond between a Brahmin widow and her activist father-in-law.
