Tollywood comedy actor, director and chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Cultural Association, Dhramavarapu Subramaniam passed away on Monday, the 7th of December, 2013. He was 53 years old at the time of his death. It has been learnt that he had been suffering for liver disorder and cancer for quite some time, and been hospitalized for the same. He can also put his career on hold. In fact, he had even taken a break from acting in the political satire called Ding dong on Sakshi TV, the show that gained him immense popularity.Subramaniam, who lived in the P&T colony of Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad, instead of Filmnagar or Jubilee Hills area like the other bog actors of his stature, breathed his last in his Dilsukhnagar house where he was being kept under medical surveillance since his health was in a poor state. Fans were left in a state of shock when the Telugu news channels began to highlight the sad demise of the actor. Relatives and close friends in the industry, too, are shocked. Year 2013 has been a sad year for the Telugu film industry as it lost many great gems. Actors Srihari and A. V. Subramaniam passed away recently. Dharmavarapu’s death was added to this grief of the fans who hogged his house to mourn the passing away of their favourite actor. Personalities of the Telugu film industry started coming to his residence as well, after hearing this sad news. It is expected that the last rights of the actor, who belonged to a family that hailed from KomminenivariPalem, BallikuruvaMandalam in the district of Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh, will be performed in in his native place.Dharmavarapu Subramaniam
