Hansika to play journalist in her upcoming movie:
The young and beautiful Telugu actress, HansikaMotwani, is set to play the lead female character in the upcoming Tollywood movie called Biriyani. She will be seen in the movie playing the role of a television reporter. She is following the footsteps of Anjali, her co-actress in themovie namedSettai where Anjali plays a journalist. Hansika will be seen romancing Karthi in the movie. This movie, belonging to the genre of black comedy thriller, is written and directed by the well-known filmmaker, VenkatPrabhu. The music for this musical is composed by YuvanSHnkar Raja, and is a milestone in his career since it is his 100th film as a composer. The film has been shot for about 9 months, primarily in Chennai, Hyderabad and Ambur. Other actors who will be seen in the movie are Mandy Takhar, NithinSathya, PremgiAmaren, Ramki and Madhumitha, to name a few of the star studded cast of the movie. This flick is set to hit the theatres in the month of December in 2013.
Hansika, who recently turned 22, started her acting career in television as a child actor. She was popular for her role in the children’s soap, ShakaLaka Boom Boom. She became a household name for her role in the soap called Des Mein NiklaHoga Chand, for which she was presented with the Favourite Child Award in the Star Parivaar Awards. She later appeared in the Bollywood movie, Koi… Mil Gaya, by RakeshRoshan, as a friend the autistic character named Rohit played by HrithikRoshan. She appeared as a child artist in several Hindi films. In 2007, she debuted as a lead actress in the Telugu film Desamuduru which was made by filmmaker PuriJagannath. She played the love interest of Allu Arjun in the film. Her character in this film fetched her the Filmfare Award for the category of Female Debut (South). She made her debut in Bollywood as a lead actress opposite HimeshReshamiya in the flick, AapKaSuroor. She was also roped in for another Hindi movie named He: The Only One, which was later shelved. Her only appearance in a Kannada film was in Bindass, opposite PuneetRajkumar. She made her debut in the Tamil film industry with Mappillai where she romanced Dhanush.
Her roles in the movies like Velaydham, OrukaloruKannadi and Denikaina ready were greatly received by the public as well as the critics. However, she was in the news for her weight gain and was being criticised for the same by critics and fans alike. In fact, she was asked to reduce her weight for a film where she was acting opposite Raam. However, she has lost a lot of calories for her upcoming movie, and is extremely happy to play the role of a journalist, According to her, she owes her stardom to media as the media has always supported her.
