The year 2013, has been a breathtaking experience as there were lots of movies which hit the silver screen and broke the box office records with respect to past years. With every movie hitting the silver screen, people witnessed new heights which were set during this year. The year was filled with marvellous flicks and flops which were entertaining the people across the globe. Each film tried to shatter the records of the other and making the mark in the industry. The box office witnessed the absence of films starring Salman Khan. Some other movies from which expectation are on high is none other than Dhoom 3. Let’s get the insight into the movies which broke the records of the Indian cinema this year-

  • Chennai Express

This film was directed under the guidance of Rohit Shetty starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Although every one linked to this blockbuster was of the view that its going to set a mark on the cinema, yes it did and which was commendable. It was able to have the box office collection of around 208.44 crore.   • Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani

Ayan Mukherjee’s was the one who directed the romantic movie which starred Deepika Padukone and Ranbir kapoor. YJHD emerged as one of the greatest grosser for the year.  The pair and songs of the movie was the chartbuster, in which we had the backing of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions which worked well for the film.

  • Krrish 3

It smashed all the records of the box office. It was the sequel to Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish which was directed by Rakesh Roshan and the true blue super hero was none other than Hrithik Roshan. In fact it went further in breaking the record of 3 ruling khans of industry Salman, Shahrukh and Aamir Khan.

  • Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

It was biopic film of Farhan Akthar which not only won the accolades of audiences but also did remarkable business at the box office and became a film which collected 3rd highest funds till now. It grossed around Rs 102 Crores net in just 24 days.

  • Grand Masti

The three starred heroes which hit the silver screen together were Aftab shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh. Although it was criticized for the offensive content, it still won the accolades of the audiences and was able to make it to the 100 crores club.

  • Race 2

It was the sequel of Race and lots of expectations of audience was already built up. It was the first big hit for the year 2013 which starred Deepika padukone and Saif Ali Khan.  It got mixed responses from both audiences and critics. The Abbas-Mastan film did the business of amount which was close to 100 crore mark.

  • Goliyon ki Ras leela –Ram Leela

Although due to its name it hit the markets with the controversy and got banned in some places but after some changes it hit the silver screen. It was Sanjay Leela Bansali’s another Magnum opus which starred Deepika padukone and Ranveer Singh.

Industry of cinema is going to entertain the people across the globe in the same manner. Dhoom 3 is another movie from which audiences have great hopes. So let’s wait and watch till it release.
