Expectations on Dhoom 3

After the phenomenal success of the Dhoom series of movies so far it would be natural to have a number of expectations riding on the upcoming hindi movie, Dhoom 3.  The first movie was released in 2004 by the Yash Raj Films banner. It followed the trials of ACP Jai Dixit, played by Abhishek Bachchan with a biker who is also a small time thug and con artist, Ali Akbar Fateh Khan, played by Uday Chopra. It made Esha Deol famous as the biker chick who told the world to “Dhoom Macha Le.” The song was one of the biggest hits of Bollywood that year and became the anthem for the sequel as well, with some minor changes in the music.

Watch out for the stellar Cast
After battling a biker gang out to rob a casino in Dhoom and an international art thief known only as Mr.A in Dhoom 2, which was released in 2006, we are now awaiting the latest movie in the series. The movie franchise has always had a strong cast and this time is no exception. The incredibly talented Aamir Khan is all set to play the villain in this latest outing of the Dhoom series. It will be interesting to see how this perfectionist plays the villain in this bollywood movie. The role of primary villain has been played by John Abraham and Hritik Roshan in the past outings.  The star cast also includes Katrina Kaif, Diana Penty, Bipasha Basu, Jackie Shroff, and a sizable number of foreign actors.
Expectations on Dhoom 3
What’s new is the director
There are bound to be some of the old jokes between Jai and Ali , but the audience is also looking forward to something new from the Dhoom movie franchise this time.  The action thriller must not only rebuild the past glory but also bring something fresh to the table. The differences may also stem from the fact that there is a new director at the helm. The first two movies in the series were directed by Sanjay Gadhvi who is an exceptionally talented director. In the new movie we will see Vijay Krishna Acharya handle the mantle of the director. Vijay is no stranger to the Dhoom franchise. He has been involved with both the previous movies in the capacity of writer for both the screen play and dialogues. It will be interesting to see his take on the story.

Waiting to see if it will actually live up to the expectations
The soundtrack is again being composed by Pritam who gave us the foot tapping music for the first two movies. The title track Dhoom Machale Dhoom for the movie was dedicated by Aamir Khan to Sachin Tendulkar as he played his 200th and last cricket test match in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium. The Arabic version of the song is also an interesting take on the original. Dhoom 3 is set for a pre Christmas release on 20th December 2013. Will Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif as the new antagonist duo be able to reprise the magic of the past movies? One can only hope for the best.
