In India, the sports industry is directly connected with the glamour industry and thus a bond has always been seen between these two sectors and at any event or award programme, many sports starts are seen along with many film heroes and heroines. The sports industry which has a deeper connection with the film industry is no doubt cricket. Thus the very famous India Premier League or the IPL has its owners as many famous Bollywood personalities. To make this bond between these two diverse fields, the Celebrity Cricket League or the CCL was launched in India in 2011.
The Celebrity Cricket League
The CCL became instantly very popular just after its inauguration. At present there are a total of eight teams from all the eight major film industries found in this country. Thus many telugu actors are also seen taking part in the team from its respective place namely the Telugu Warriors. There are also some other teams namely the Veer Marathi, Mumbai Heroes, Bengal Tiger, Kerala Strikers, Karnataka Bulldozers, Bhojpuri Dabbangs and the Chennai Rhinos. The past year also the event was a grand success and the inaugural event saw the live performances of Bollywood beauty Bipasa Basu along with Andrew Symonds together and the sizzling Katrina Kaif.
Celebrity Cricket League 2014
The announcement for the CCL 2014 has been done and as per the customs, many stars from all the industries are seen on the same platform. The telugu cinema actors were also thus present along with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar who officially announced the commencement of the CCL 2014 season. No doubt the stage was a star studded but when it comes to cricket the ultimate hero will always be Sachin and in this event there was also no exception. Sachin quoted that he is really impressed with the devotion of all these film stars who despite having a busy schedule find some time to practice for months to appear in this league. Moreover, he also said that the stars have really developed their playing skill with time. The cricketer has some very close friends who will be playing in the forthcoming season and he wished them good luck. The event became a grand success due to the presence of the brand ambassador of CCL Shruti Hasan, Sonu Sood, Usha Uthup, and Dhanush and so on. This season, the Celebrity Cricket League will start from 25th of January 2014 and will end on the 23th of February. The inaugural event will thus be seen before the first match between the Veer Marathi and the Mumbai Heroes teams. During the previous year, the inaugural event was done by none other than Salman Khan and he was also seen cheering for his brother’s team the Mumbai Heroes. Though this year, Salman was seen missing from the event due to the promotion of his film. The film will release on 24th January and he is also very eager to take active participation in this league and cheer for his brother’s team.
