Basanti Telugu Movie Review, Rating

The romantic thriller movie is directed and produced by Chaitanya Dantuluri. The movie is starred on the actor Gautham and actress Alisha Begum. It was released on February 28,2014. The story has been nicely developed and casted. The music is also no less. The movie is average and has gained up to 3 stars. It can be considered as decent and praise worthy effort by the director to focus on terrorism. He has put a lot of effort in showing this aspect in a meaningful way.

Story

It is a normal love story of the college students. In addition to love an aspect of terrorism is also covered. The beginning of the movie is a start on a decent note but after interval it is somewhat less interesting. It is about a student who studies in Basanti Art College and fights back to save his love who is trapped in the college that is barricaded by the terrorists. At the first the heroine is not interested in this student and has no feelings for him but gradually after seeing his good works she starts to meet him. Then terrorists attack their college in order to compel the government to fulfil their demands. After he gets to know about the trap his love is in, he puts his best to save her and her friends from the situation. It is somewhat wearisome to sit for the movie for whole duration and the plot does not fully succeed to entertain the audience as it is somewhat of the old pattern. The story of the movie kept the audience engaged for some time as the pre-interval movie raised expectations among the audience but the climax was not entertaining.

Performance of stars

The actor of the movie has played his character well and is quiet impressive. The acting of the female character of the movie was of an average level as her expressions at various scenes were not very remarkable. The fight scenes in the movie were amazing. All other actors in the film did justice with their characters.

Technical Aspects

Though after his debut film Banam, Chaitanya could not present this film as a good one but still we can say that the film is technically sound. The music by Mani Sharma in the movie has proved an asset. The songs and the background music have made the movie somewhat fascinating. The title track of the movie is best highlighted. Cinematography and editing of the film is fine. The other technical aspects like direction, makeup, costumes of the film were up to the level.

Seeing all the above aspects it can be concluded that the whole plotline was an average effort. There are very less moments in the film that are thrilling. After the production of Banam a lot of expectations were there with this movie which could not be fulfilled. The plot as well as the narration has gone on a slow pace in the movie. Emotions also did not work much in the film. So the film has normal ratings and reviews.
