Legend is an upcoming Telugu film which is directed by Boyapati Srinu and is produced by the combined efforts of Ram Achanta, Gopichand Achanta and Anil Sunkara. The film is casting the famous actor Nandamuri Balakrishnan, Radhika Apte and Sonal Chauhan in lead roles. Actor Jagapathi Babu is seen in negative role for the movie. The cinematography of the movie is handled by Ram Prasad and the awesome music of the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. This film is reported to have the highest budget n Balakrishnan’s career up till now. Some of the movie scenes are said to have shot in Deserts of Dubai. The release date of the film in all Andhra Pradesh theaters is confirmed to be March 28 in 2014. The expectations from are movie are reaching the sky. The movie has been recently in news regarding its satellite rights problems.

According to the early reports it has been found out that satellite rights for Balakrishnan’s upcoming movie was picked up by ‘Gemin TV’ for the price of 8.5 crores. The satellite rights for the movie were in a lot of demand and many people were trying their best to purchase them but the situation got totally reversed leaving ‘Legend’ in a big shock.

According to the news it has been investigated that two popular entertainment channels ‘MAA’ and ‘Gemini’ initially offered a price of about Rs 7  crore for the movie but the movie makers demanded and expected a price of about 8.5 crore. The presenter of the film ‘14 Reels entertainment’ had hoped to recover its losses (in previous projects) from “legend” but all it hopes were in vain.

When the price negotiations were going on for satellite rights of the movie then I and B department suddenly announced a new aspect of showing only 12 minutes of advertisement for all the entertainment channels. This aspect restricted the channels from stretching the movie for several hours. After this the channels could not include more ads during the movie which affected the earnings of the TV channels. This in turn also affected the price of TV channel it doles out for the satellite rights of a famous star’s movie. So finally the recovery options of the cost for the channels were low and so they were forced to quote a low price for satellite rights of the movie.

Result

Finally after all such harsh decisions by the I and B department entertainment channel ‘Gemini TV’ backed out from buying the satellite rights for the upcoming Telugu movie. After Gemini, ’MAA TV’ is offering a very low price of around 4.5 crores only. Because of such a tough decision of I and B department, Government of India the satellite prices came just half of the price that was quoted by the film makers. Consequently the local area distributors are approaching 14 reels entertainment with nice offers for the release of the movie ‘Legend’.
