Since a long time Telugu movies have been dominating the film industry but as the time is running, Tamil dubbed movies are gaining an upper hand on Telugu cinema movies. Tollywood has been the first and largest film industry since time but now its downfall is being seen at present. It came from first position to second in the year 2009 and to third in the year 2010. Statistics
The annual report given by Central board of film certification centre (CBFC) has shown that number of films given by Telugu film industry is being constantly decreasing as compared to Tamil movies. For instance in the year 2009 number of films produced was 1288 which declined to 1274 in the year 2010. Two hundred and eighteen films were certified in 2009 which to one hundred and eighty one in 2010. If a comparison is made among all the film industries then the Telugu cinema is worst at its performance. The Tamil film industry had increased its performance by boosting up the number of movies from 190 in 2009 to 200in 2010. Even the Bengali and Malyalam film industries have shown a remarkable increase in their performance compared to previous years.
Number of movies
In the few previous years the number of Telugu movies has decreased. The main reason for the decline is that the film makers have lost interest in making large number of movies. This was the result of the previous movies made by them, which could not be successful at the box office. Due to the failure at the box office the film makers lost their interest in giving more Telugu movies which proved to be a golden chance for the Tamil movies to dominate Tollywood.
Tamil Actors
Tamil actors have far large remuneration as compared to Telugu actors. Some of the instances are like Rajnikanth makes a remuneration of about 30 crore from every movie he acts for. Actor Surya makes 15 crore, Ajith and Vijay take 12 crores for their movies. But if see the highest amount of remuneration made by a Telugu actor then it is only 9 crore which is much less them Tamil actor. So this is the difference between both industries’ actors. Tamil actors have a large number of fans and a huge international market for their movies which tends the Tamil movies to dominate Tollywood.
Tamil producers
The Tamil producers have always been smart in gaining collections for their movies. They do not restrict their movies only to Tamil language but invest a lot in dubbing it in other languages even in Telugu. Producers like Rangam and Nanna are live examples of this. Actor Surya has always shown interest in dubbing his movies in Telugu and releasing in Andhra Pradesh which has attracted a huge number of fans and provided a good market for his films. This way Tamil movies are able to dominate Tollywood successfully.
