Bollywood director-producer Aditya Chopra has finally got married to his long-time girlfriend and actress Rani Mukharji away from all prying eyes in Italy. The knot was tied on Monday night on April 21 and in the simple fairytale ceremony only close friends and family members were present.
Aditya Chopra, head of Yashraj Filmsand Rani Mukharji, the veteran of several hit films in Bollywood and known for her effervescent versatility were in an intimate relationship since a very long-time. Romance between both of them has been making headlines for years now. Finally Yash Raj films released a statement confirming the wedding saying that the marriage was a small and intimate affair including some family and close friends.
Though, the news regarding their relationship were never been accepted by the couple. They neither spoke about it nor even being seen in public together. Now bride Rani Mukharji herself issued a statement thanked fans and well-wishers for their blessings. Rani Mukharji, 36, said her wedding to the 42-year-old filmmaker is the continuation of her “Fairytale”. For her, it was a beautiful wedding in the Italian countryside with just a few of close family and friends of hers as well as Aditya’s.
Rani has been reported to have been present at all major family events in recent times at Aditya chopra’s home.
She was also there at the funeral of Aditya’s father filmmaker Yash Chopra. This is the first marriage for Rani while Aditya was earlier married to her childhood friend, Payal Khanna and divorced her in 2009 much against his family’s will.
In fact, rumours were rife that Rani and Aditya were set to a grand wedding in February in Jodhpur. Rani’s fans were waiting for the affair to remember of their wedding. Well, it will be because Ms Rani and Yash Raj films head honcho did manage to solemnize their relationship without letting anyone get a whiff about it.
For Rani, This day is like the happiest day of her life and she shared her happiness through a tweet.
She tweeted ”I would like to share the happiest day of my life with all my fans all over the world whose love and blessings have been part of my journey all these years of my life. I know that all my well-wishers who have waited for this day will be really happy for me. It was a beautiful wedding in the Italian countryside with just a few of our family and friends with us. The one person I missed terribly was Yash Uncle, but I know he was there with us in spirit and his love and blessings will always be with Adi and me. I have always believed in fairy-tales and with God’s grace my life has been exactly like one, and now as I enter the most important chapter of my life-the fairy tale continues”.
