South Indian superstar upcoming project team got into trouble when The High Court of Madras issued a notice to them. The notice was issued by the court to the team of ‘Lingaa’ after acceptance of writ petition filed by none other than an aspiring filmmaker K.R. Ravi Rathinam. The claim was on the most popular issue that generally raises over any new film’s storyline. The writer alleges that the producer and director of ‘Lingaa’ starring Rajinikanth had stolen the storyline of a Tamil film. Moreover this is not the end, Ravi ji also sought a stay on the movie’s release.
About the Petition and Petitioner
Petition was filed on this Wednesday, also there are some who named including superstar Rajinikanth, producer Rockline Venkatesh, director K.S. Ravi Kumar and script writer B. Ponkumar. According to the petitioner, the story of ‘Lingaa’ get matched exactly with the story of ‘Mullai Vanam 999’ which was produced by him. Now the petitioner wants a committee to be constituted and an inquiry to be conducted over the matter so that he could get the true ownership and authorship of the single storyline. According to petitioner the storyline was stolen from his YouTube post as he had made about the Pooja function for his film held on February 24.
Admitting the petition, justice M Venugopal of the court’s Madurai bench issued the notice to the team officials including Ministry of Information and broadcasting and Secretary. His film is going to be released on Tamil New Year day while Lingaa is set to be released on Pongal festival next year, this will affect his project, so petitioner sought a stay the release of the film. Case regarding the petition is to be heard on Nov 19.
Storyline
After such a huge drama, it’s obvious to be curious to know the story of both the films. Our superstar Rajinikant is once again seems to be bust with the shooting of his new upcoming film which presently can be called as a project named ‘Lingaa’. Director Ravi Kumar started it’s shooting in Mysore. Talk about actress lead roles, then Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty are slated for that role. These two will be the lover of Rajinikanth double role character in the film. This would be Sonakshi’s first Tamil debut. For her it would be a kind of Dabangg entry for Tamil films.
Sonakshi’s excitement revealed some part of their story. Story is said to be spread across two generations and Sonakshi will be a part of the former generation. She will be playing a role of 1940s generations and she has become a girl who helps Rajinikanth. And the next generation role is filmed on Rajinikanth and Anushka Shetty. Now the petitioner is threatened about the same storyline as well as the date of release of the film is ahead of his own release. Definitely this would affect his film and also he has the ownership of the story first as he invested 47 years of his labour in the film production, as he says.
