Telegu cinema still united after Telangana

The reality: –

Every state (so does Andhra) had some point in time in its history goes through territorial changes. This is a very natural phenomena directed by the emotions of the people. The people of course look for more and more autonomous existence. But the argument remains whether the emotions of the people are strong enough to break away completely from its erstwhile united form. As a united state many industries grow and flourish on its territory that go far and wide in its popularity and gets deeply rooted in the culture of the state. Surprisingly enough when a state gets divided into two the industries also somehow divide themselves up which could be a harrowing time for most of the population. This is unavoidable and yet painful to accept.

The division: –

Telangana which has been one of the major demands of a section of people of Andhra Pradesh is of course a strong reality that cannot be avoided. The government has finally accepted the claim and wishes to go by it. All the people who have been trying to make it a success have been overjoyed by the unexpected yet joyous occasion. But now the reality has started to seep in, this has let the people realise that the division of a new state called Telangana would actually divide the complete state into two and symbolically its industries, its way of life and so on. The most important and popular industry of the undivided Andhra Pradesh was the Tollywood, the Telegu film industry, but even the very existence of such a concept stands questionable. Would a new film industry be set up for the new state of Telangana or would it just remain the way it is? Going by the emotions of the people the film industry would remain pretty much the same without many complications. The Telegu speaking population would still remain the target market for the Telegu film industry and so nothing much would change. Even if there is a possibility of the establishment of a completely new film industry arises in near future it would still be a time taking one that would require a lot of effort and time among other things. At the moment this seems to be a very unlikely event. Thus the formation of Telangana does not seem to be a threatening incident for the Telegu film industry and this is of course a happy news for all film related people.

Conclusion: –

In fact this very view point has been reflected in a statement given by Burugupalli Sivaramakrishna, President of the Andhra Pradesh producer’s council. He candidly points out that entertainment is not supposed to be regarded as something that could be divided quite like a territory; it is a business and therefore would run in the same way as the other industries would. He is of course just a reflection of the majorities’ thoughts who would just love to enjoy cinema as it is without really going into the complications of territorial divisions.
