Rogue Tagline: A 'Routine' Film

Rogue Plot:

Chanti (Ishaan) is a person who doesn't fear for anyone. He loves Anjali (Angela) who is the daughter of the Commissioner. But she chooses to marry encounter specialist (Subbaraju) and hates Chanti. From that point of time, Chanti starts developing hatred towards girls. Then enters Anjali (Mannara Chopra) in Chanti's life and how the second Anjali changed Chanti's life and how did he face the psycho (Thakur Anup Singh) forms the rest of the film's story.

Rogue Performances:

The film Rogue stars newcomer Ishaan in the lead role. Ishaan has done great things in the movie. As a newcomer, the lead actor has shown some promise. Unlike other newcomers, Ishaan has the right talent to become a good actor in the film industry. Ishaan has got the emotions right in the movie. He did the action scenes very well and impressed us.

Mannara Chopra is the female lead role in the film. She already impressed us in other Telugu films in the past and the movie; she has got nothing to do except for putting up a glamor show. In the same manner, the other female lead Angela Krislinzki also does the same.

Thakur Anoop Singh played the lead antagonist in the film. He impressed well in the movie.

Ajaz Khan is also seen in a significant role.

The other actors like Avinash, Ali, Thulasi Shivamani and Subbaraju are good in their roles.

Analysis:

Usually, when we come across Puri Jagannadh film, we come to know about the different characterisations he does for the lead actors. In the same manner, Puri was successful in bringing that on screen. With the dialogues also, Puri Jagannadh has done his magic and proved his mark perfectly. The heroism elevation is perfect. The story and screenplay of the film are pretty ordinary and regular. We can not expect anything new or fresh from the film. But the director tried to fit Ishaan in a conventional story of the film. Though the film is touted to be a romantic entertainer, the film appeals to mass audiences a lot because of the too many mass elements in the film.

Ishaan will have a successful Telugu debut with the film. The mass angle of Ishaan has been presented very well in the film, and at the same time, the mass approach for the story reveals the Puri mark. The beginning of the film is too good, but then the film falls flat and gets into an ordinary flow. The routine sequences irk the audiences in between, and the interval bang is interesting again. The narration is also good, and Puri Jagannadh tried his best to narrate the story in an engaging manner.

There are some too good sequences in the film that will make us feel wow about Puri Jagan's taking. The pre-interval and pre-climax episodes are nice. The suspense in the film has been maintained perfectly. The ending of the film is good. The second half of the film could have been much better. The audiences expect an Idiot type entertainment in the film which is missing. Except for that, there is nothing we can hope for from the film. It's time Puri should start exploring new stories and put an end to the routine stories.

The cinematography of the film is impressive. The DOP has captured the locations nicely and showed the actors beautifully on the screen. The editing is poor. Technically, the film is okay. The production values are grand!

Merits:

- Performances
- Cinematography
- Dialogues

De-Merits:

-Story
- Screenplay

Music:

The music scored by Sunil Kashyap has been impressive. The audio album already received the appreciations. Sunil Kashyap has also come up with impressive background score.

Others:

Puri Jagan has delivered a good subject for the newcomer. The locations are good in the film.

Verdict:

Rogue offers nothing new or fresh and to end it up in a single line, Rogue is a pakka Puri mark movie that lacks entertainment!
