Nandita Swetha who has played the role of a ghost in 'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada' movie is all set to scare the audience with another horror film 'Prema Katha Chitram 2'. Touted to be a horror comedy, the movie is going to be the sequel of super hit movie 'Prema Katha Chitram' starring Sudheer Babu and Nanditha. Sumanth Ashwin played the lead role in the sequel and Siddhi Idnani of 'Jamba Lakadi Pamba' Fame romanced Sumanth Ashwin in this movie. Hari Kishan helmed this project whereas as Sudarshan Reddy pooled resources for the film. After creating a good impression with the trailer of the movie, the makers have finally released the movie today on April 6th 2019. Let's see how far the movie succeeded in impressing the audience.

Story:

Bindu (Siddhi Idnani) loves Sudheer (Sumanth Ashwin) and wants to get married to him but Sudheer likes another girl Nandu (Nanditha Swetha). Because of this, Bindu kills herself and turns an evil spirit. Bindu haunts Nandu and starts troubling Sudheer. Why did Bindu select Nandu? What happens after that? How did Sudheer solve the problem? Forms the story of the movie.

Performances:

Sumanth Ashwin got an interesting role in the film and he has given his hundred per cent in portraying that role. The actor is absolutely energetic and delivered superb performance. Siddhi Idnani looked effortlessly beautiful and has pulled off her character with grace and elegance. Her chemistry with Sumanth Ashwin is also refreshing. Nandita Swetha is undoubtedly one of the talented actresses and she has showcased her skills again with this movie. She is cute and scary at times and overall did a decent job. Character artists like Vidyullekha, Krishna Teju and NTV Sai justified their roles. The rest of the cast also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:

Hari Kishan's direction could have been better. The way he has handed the story is good. But it would have been much better if he had narrated the story with high pace. Because the slow-paced narration by him will definitely irk the audience. Especially, the unnecessary comedy sequences in the second half of the film can be considered as one of the major setbacks. Production values by R Sudarshan Reddy are very high. We can say that the producers have invested decent amounts though it is a small budget film. Music by Jeevan Reddy is just average. His songs are not that great and his background score is somewhat better. The cinematographer by C Ram Prasad has produced some decent, colourful and bright visuals for the film. Editing by SB Uddhav is clean.

Review:

The lack of proper story can be considered as one of the biggest minus points for the film. Also, the director utterly failed to narrate the movie in a decent way. He has made the film just with some double meaning dialogues and vulgar comedy which is not at all funny. The movie starts off in a routine way and the first half is somewhat better but the director ruins the entire second half. However, the climax is handled well and the last 10 minutes of the movie is the only good thing. But overall 'Prema Katha Chitram 2' failed to impress the audience like its prequel.

Plus Points:

Performances
Comedy

Minus Points:

Routine Story
Slow Narration
Screenplay

Final Verdict: Prema Katha Chitram 2 Lacks the magic of Comedy & Horror
