After creating sensations with Bahubali and Saaho, young Rebel Star Prabhas has finally came up with his recent outing 'Radhe Shyam'. Featuring Pooja Hegde as the female lead, Radha Krishna wielded the megaphone for this project. The expectations are sky high on this flick and the teaser and trailer have increased the buzz even more.

Touted to be a fantasy love story with period backdrop, the movie which was on sets for 3 years ago and got delayed so many times finally made it to the theatres today on March 11, 2022. Here is the review of the film.

Story:
Set in 1976, Vikramaditya (Prabhas) is a top league palmist. So many celebrities and biggies all over the world wants to visit him including the Indian Prime Minister who wanted to know the future. One day, he suddenly disappears from India and is seen living a happy life in Italy.

here he meets Dr Prerna (Pooja Hegde) and their friendship soon blossomed into love. Despite prognosis about her illness from so many doctors, Aditya assures Prerna that she will have a long life. Did Aditya's predictions really turned out to be true? what happened between them? forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
Prabhas has delivered an outstanding performance in the film. Though the film is an out and out love story, Prabhas comfortably blended with the character and delivered an amazing performance. it is an eye feast to watch Prabhas on the silver screens after a long time.

Pooja Hegde looked really beautiful in the film. Especially her chemistry with Prabhas worked out brilliantly in the film. Krishnam Raju is as an asset for the film and has delivered an honest performance in the movie. Actors like Sachin Khedekar, Murali Sharma, and Jaya Ram also delivered decent performances.

Technical Aspects:
Director showcased the story really well but he took so much time just for the characteristic establishments in the first half. Also his narration is quite slow in the second half but the technical team did a really great job. Despite having a slow paced, soul lacking plot, the beautiful visuals engaged the audience throughout the film.

Production values by UV Creations are top notch. Songs by Justin Prabhakaran are also too good and a bunch of video songs are beautiful to watch. Thaman's background music is top class and his soothing music is like a cherry on the top. Visuals by Manoj Paramahamsa are just outstanding. Editing is also good.

Verdict:
Set against the backdrop of Palmistry, some of the scenes felt really interesting. The movie started off quite well. The interval bang is also just average. The second half is somewhat better when compared to the first half.

There are some some twist and turna in the second half but none of them will give us an engaging ride. Despite having a romantic setup, lack of soul in the love story became the biggest drawbacks of the film. Overall, 'Radhe Shyam' ended up as a regular love story blended with good emotions and beautiful artwork.

Plus points:
Performances
Visuals
Music

Mints points:
Boring drama
Flat narration
Lengthy runtime

Final verdict: Radhe Shyam tests the patience
