Nelson Dileep Kumar has come up with an interesting film titled Beast. Starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, the film also features Pooja Hegde in the female lead role. The film was released today. Check out the review of the film here.

Story:
Veera Raghava (Vijay) is a RAW agent who is leading a mission to catch the terrorist Umar Farookh. Unfortunately, the mission results in the death of a small girl. Veera Raghava quits RAW for the same reason but when the terrorists hijack the East Coast mall in Chennai with a demand to release Umar Farookh, amidst some dramatic events, Veera Raghava takes charge to save the people in the mall. How did he do it? Did he become successful? What happens in the end? Forms the film's story.

Performances:
Performances-wise, there are only a few actors who got a scope to perform in the film. Compared to other films. Vijay is at his usual best. His performance seemed effortless completely. As a RAW agent, Vijay's performance is highly commendable. His chemistry with Pooja Hegde is impressive.

Pooja looked beautiful on the screen and she is a charming addition to the cast. The comedy scenes with Yogi Babu have come out well too. Selva Raghavan is decent and his sarcastic lines resulted in a good appreciation from all. The rest of the actors did their best and made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:
The Technical department of the film worked so well for the film. The team has given their complete strength to director Nelson's commercial packaged film. The action scenes are well-written and also well-executed. The logic is missing here and there.

Music-wise, the songs are good but the background score is not up to the mark. The work of the cinematographer is impressive and the visuals are grand on the screen. Every frame looks rich. The production values are grand. The Telugu dubbing is decent.

Review:
Nelson Dileep Kumar penned a very interesting plot. Especially, the way he incorporated action elements is a major highlight of the movie. The second half was crucial for the film the director failed to make it engaging and the drama that has been added disappointed the audience. The film's plotline is gripping but the director failed to pull a properly baked screenplay out of it. Especially, the film lacks logic at several points. Many elements of the film appear cinematic.

The stylish making is a plus point but the content goes for a toss. The routineness and the lags in the narrative flow are big minus points in the film. Billed to be an intense action drama, with Nelson's comic elements, Beast was out in theatres today. Although the comedy clicked here and there, the boring action drama failed to woo the audiences. Yet again, another young director failed to make use of Vijay's stardom in coming up with a blockbuster. On the whole, Beast is not powerful.

Plus Points:
Performances
Comedy
Action Elements
Visuals
BGM

Minus Points:
Weak Screenplay
Boring Narration

Final verdict: Beast is Boring
