Late Puneeth Rajkumar's last outing James has finally hit the screens. As it is the final film of Puneeth, there are many expectations on it. Directed by Chethan Kumar, this film features Priya Anand as the female lead. Here is the review of it:

Story:
There are two underworld dons who keep the city of Bengaluru in their control. One of them is Vijay Gaekwad(Srikanth). As he finds out that he has a life threat, he appoints Santosh (Puneeth Rajkumar) as his personal security.

After a series of events, Santosh kidnaps Gaekwad and his sister (Priya Anand) and reveals his identity as James. Who is James? Why did he disguise himself as Santosh? What is his motive? To know the answers, you have to watch the film.

Performances:
Puneeth Rajkumar is the core soul of this movie. He put his heart out in the role. As it is an action-packed character, Puneeth gave his best through fights. His dances are a treat to watch as well.

Priya Anand had nothing great to offer. She was decent. Srikanth and Sarath Kumar got meaty roles and they have been excellent in the movie. Rest others performed within their character limitations.

Technical Aspects:
Director Chethan Kumar came up with an out-and-out commercial story for this film. It is entertaining and serves its purpose. He succeeded in using the stardom of Puneeth. He could have taken care of the runtime though. Music by Charan Raj is decent.

But the background score was very good. The cinematography by Swamy J. Gowda has been rich. The production values were great and brought a lavish feel to the movie. The editing could have been a bit better on the other front.

Analysis:
James starts off on an interesting note with an intriguing premise. Right from the introduction scene to the interval, the film is engaging and fast-paced. However, things go downhill after the interval. Again, it picks up pace towards the climax.

The stylistic action scenes and good emotional sequences are the major highlights of James. On the whole, it will be an emotional treat for all Puneeth Rajkumar fans. A perfect theatre material.

Plus Points:
Puneeth Rajkumar
Action and Emotional scenes
Interval and Climax sequences

Minus Points:
Lengthy runtime

One Line Verdict: Perfect Tribute to Appu!
